Having inferiority complexity, I always want to understand lots of mathematics better, especially on Calculus. I bought several books on this topic, but because of short of my free time to study, I couldn't advanced in my calculus skill. In my country, basic calculus is for high-school students. It has some merits compared to other countries whose students learn the calculus on their college life, but has a serious defect; making the student lose the interest to mathematics due to the scoring policy. Thus, I know how to solve/simplify complex equation, how to solve differentiation, and so on, but never fully understood the meaning of them.Reading this book (I admit, that I just finished to read Chapter 7), brought me the enlightenment of the differentiation and integration, especially the concept of calculus, not just how to solve them. I know other great books on calculus especially for the students. However, being a person who has limited time to study, this book shines above all. (Even for non-English speakers like me.)There is one minor defect I think, like many mathematics books, it refers to other section and figures in a different pages a lot. Thus it prevent me from reading smoothly sometimes. Most of equations are rendered as images with reasonable size and resolution, so it does not cause problems, although they look somewhat ugly.

***On the BookI already have taken basic calculus courses not that long ago, so I used this book more for reviewing and "honing" purposes, and I couldn't be more pleased with it. The author details many derivations that were skipped in my calculus courses, for example the derivatives and integrals of inverse trig functions, the formulas of which us clueless students were forced to memorize. After reading this book, never again would I have to futilely batter my brain cells in the frantic search for a formula I was not able to retain - this is the best quality about the book. Ordinarily, students would be taught math (or any other subject) in a way that would induce them to score well on tests. This technique is shallow and often cuts corners, as some steps are left out for fear that it may confuse the test-taker, who inevitably takes his test unthinkingly.Kline's [the author] teaching philosophy is different. He sets out everything in detail and with clarity, so that the student may himself solve problems without resorting to formulas or hoping that test problems would not differ from the drills he has solved. Furthermore, the practice problems in this book are engaging, and Kline has take great pains to show how every mathematical technique can be used in real life. Some of his practice problems also asks that the student prove some thing or other (it is not all application), and this allows the principle to further sink in the brain.A solutions manual is not included in the book, but may be requested, for free, from Dover. The details of how to do this is described in one of the front pages where the copyright information is found. The solutions manual could also be found in Dover's website. It is in pdf form and is something like 250 pages.The solutions in the solution's manual do not merely list the correct answers. It also describes how to get to that answer. There are some typos, so there may be moments when no answer of yours would be correct now matter how and how many times you get at it. I do not believe the typos are anything major, since it can be obvious when something is a typo. Besides these atypical moments, the solutions manual could be regarded as having the infallibility of God, and with inducing the same soul-enriching effects.Some people may complain about the wordiness of this book, but the "wordiness," in my opinion, aids in the understanding: it is a blow-by-blow description of the proofs and model problems. It could be skipped; I mostly don't.I highly recommend this book.***On Amazon:I have already bought a book from Amazon before, purportedly new, but when I received it, its spine was wrinkled, a fabrication error I suppose. It was also evident from a number of other minor damages that Amazon does not take good care of the books in its store. The book was far worse-looking than many of the used books I bought from outside sellers. Now, I bought another book from Amazon, this one, and it was no surprise that it was worn-looking and evidently manhandled by whoever was in charge of Amazon storage. I was willing to overlook that, what I can't abide by is the stains I found on pages 347-351, and goodness knows how many more stains and surprises lie in wait. Is Amazon trying to pass off used books as new? I am sick of how Amazon handles its products.

I really like this series of books but, enough is enough!! I feel this author is disrespecting her readers. Anytime you have to start your books with a message defending the length in actual print as opposed to e-reader length there is a problem. I would have happily paid ten dollars per book for a 2 book story about this couple. I was feeling cheated and unappreciated by book 6. I am now caught up in the characters and want to know how their story ends. I will never get caught up in a never ending short booked story line by this author again!! Shame on you H.M. Ward!

This book takes Avery through an array of emotions very quickly and leaves us like all the other books...dying to have the next book!HM Ward's talented writing sucks you in and leaves you wanting more.

I personally like the mini installments. I have a love-hate relationship with suspense and cliffhangers.I was shocked when Marty was the one to open the door. I had my doubts about him. But he pulled through to be an awesome friend. Avery's plan for Sean is great. I was on edge the entire time to see what happened. I was not expecting the events that played out in this installment. And now I'm left wondering if Marty wasn't the one behind the texting...could he stoop so low? Otherwise, who else knows about Sean and Avery? Oh, wait Henry? So may ways this story can go. I'm excited to see.The characters continue to grow and improve with each book. The story plot thickens and intensifies. There are so many possibilities that could happen. H.M. ward has done a fantastic job with creating this world. I am so in love with Sean and Avery. I want the happy outcome. I want them to have the white Pickett fence. I am so glad I get to be on this journey, story their story unfold.I recommend this series to any erotic romance fan. It will keep you up late at night just to finish the book. Who needs sleep when you got a book by H.M. ward??

I personally have been very invested in the book series but this is getting ridiculous. $27.00 and still nothing more than an hour? Hell going to the movies is cheaper than this and has everything together. It is becoming very predictable. I as a writer would not be charging $3 for a handful of chapters that go nowhere. The author needs to rethink her pricing or give more content. I personally understand why people are going to quit reading. It is not that she is a bad writer; it is bad decisions and lack of content for what we pay. I would love to give her a better review but I can't due to the fact I get 10 VERY short chapters where nothing really happens. Yes it picks up from where the last one left off*****Spoilers******But to have Marty just buy her for the night to give her a night off. She sleeps with him although lying in bed whining about not being able to sleep is stupid. Pick a guy and go for it. She goes to the jewelry store to buy a ring and you think she will only Mel has an issue with the sales girl and they leave only for Mel to go back and buy crap from another salesman.You find out that as predicted Avery broke rules for no reason. She believed Sean bought her for the night but you know after the conversation with Amber that she sexted with someone other than Sean. You just have to wait to find out when she compares numbers. Can she get any stupider?On to the Sean crap. Never does it say Avery bought something until it shows up her telling Mel she is going to go and propose. Although even that she chooses not to propose, spilling her heart but only sort of as she tells him she is not proposing. Sean calls her on her crap. The book ends on yet another cliff hanger and who knows how many more parts you will be left with paying an absorbent amount.I understand she is self-publishing, and getting $0.35 for selling something at $0.99 is not much when you could sell it at $2.99 and get at minimum $1.05 but it is dishearting to read something for really nothing. Kristen Proby another AMAZING author gives us a whole book for $2.99 which is about 80,000 words. Much more than 1 hours' worth of reading. She needs to finish the story and quit with the tiny chapters or change the price she is charging.

I really have enjoyed reading this authors books in the past and while I couldn't really justify the $2.99 per installment for the arrangement the story hooked me and I read the first 7 in the matter of a few short hours. After 8 I was beginning to feel a bit used as a reader and fan. while I knew better, I still purchased 9 just to know what happened next (clearly the authors intention). However, not only was it only 77 pages, it was RIDICULOUS. This new trend of authors selling shorts for a high price is getting old fast and while some may be worth it, the arrangement went downhill fast and the author should be disgusted with herself for rapping her loyal fans.

I have to be honest: I was so angry the entire time I was reading this book. Pissed off to the highest point of pistivity (new word). I cannot stand this man. In my review for In Covenant With Ezra, I felt kind of bad about saying that. I don't feel that way this time. I think Love anticipated strong reactions to Ezra both good and bad and actually welcomes them, so again, I cannot stand this man. I get the whole BDSM thing. I do. I totally get it. I just don't like it. I guess I was somewhat naive in my interpretation of exactly what it was. I always thought that it was relegated to just bedroom sexual activity. I think if that dom/sub dynamic in the book was just in the bedroom, I would be a little more okay with him. My issue, was/is Ezra’s need to dominate her in all facets of her life. Everything hinges on how she acts towards him. It bothered me so much that everything surrounded him punishing her. She was so strong minded prior to him, she did try to please everyone around her, but she was still strong. Ezra weakened her so much. He broke her down, which were his intentions but it just sucked to read.With that being said, just because I don’t enjoy the content doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate the craft. Love Belvin has a GIFT. She is a phenomenal writer and content aside, this was a phenomenal novel. She has a way with words that rivals –if not tops – Eric Jerome Dickey. And that’s saying something. Regardless of how I felt while reading this book, I didn’t put it down. What I’ve found with Love, is that it always works out in the end. The last line of In Covenant with Ezra is what made me purchase In Love with Ezra. The last line of In Love with Ezra is what will having me purchasing In Bonded with Ezra. I don’t think I’ve felt such an internal battle over whether I loved or hated a book in my life. I’ve never been this angry at a book, but still had no other choice but to give it five stars.

That was the ending of the first book of this series, and it sets the stage for "In Love With Ezra".Before reading this latest offering from Love Belvin, I found myself doing things I try very hard not to do before beginning a read. I found myself reading opinions and comments of persons either reading or having read the book in its entirety. The one thing I recognized during my quick perusal of the 58 then posted reviews of this book was that not one reviewer mentioned the repartee in the very beginning between Love and Lex setting forth their concerns and solutions concerning judgment towards them for doing their own thing. Their conversation ended with the mutual acknowledgment that regardless of others opinions of them they were comfortable enough in their own skins to keep on doing them.Now I was set to begin my own personal journey totally centered on whether or not this train of thought was developed and adhered to both by Love Belvin and her fictional muse, Alexa Grier aka Lex, aka kitten. The very first thing I notice is that Lex is an active participant in her own manipulation, and her extreme desire of wanting to be loved is the source of this participation. Manipulation gives her pleasure. Ezra Carmichael being the sexual bedroom bully that he is, both in and out of the sandbox, took great pleasure in delivering and fulfilling this satiation to his most willing pupil or should I specify - pupil,in training? I began an instant dislike for the character of Ezra Carmichael, based on the marionette control of my emotions being guided by author Love Belvin. But then a wrench is thrown into my emotional tantrum regarding him when he displays the a supreme act of kindness towards Trent Bailey, continued personal financial assistance during a fire time of need. I am now conflicted about Ezra. I now see that I have to separate my conflicting emotions to suit whichever side of him I am viewing. All because Love Belvin is still comfortable in her own skin! But I digress!The more things change, the more they remain the same. This is the truth I found in the growth of Lex and Ezra. Lexi started out in book 1 as a very strong and dynamic character. Secure in her own personal situation, as dire as it was financially, to still have the compassion to shoulder the responsibility of an elder individual. Her inherent strength is/was undeniable; but it was compromised because she released a part of herself to someone else's care. The release of that part of herself took place when she entered into covenant. To her, a literal covenant void of anything not to do with its literal translation; contractual agreement, pledge, indenture, promise. It is only when she added and admitted the extra ingredient of L O V E, did she take her strength back and released herself from domination both in and out of the intimacy of the sandbox type of atmosphere.But baby! In book 2, after trial and error, girlfriend got her strength groove back with a lot of extra thrown in! Imminent case in point - that dang gone job interview for the Social Services Supervisory job at the church! I was jumping up an down at the repartee between her and Ezra. Lex laid claim to her Harlem strong self! Lex had gained her footing in her Covenant residency and has added the extra ingredient of personal love. GROWTH INITIATED AND CONTINUING!Now pertaining to "Pasta's" growth. I see Ezra learning and participating in the realm of compromise. I see him making great strides in the area of give and take. Something definitely missing in "In Covenant With Ezra" but taking gliding flight in "in Love with Ezra". I see that with all his learning he is finally understanding that it takes two baby to make a true and sustaining love. These mutual exchanges between Pastor and Mrs. Carmichael vs. Ezra Carmichael and Alexa Grier is what makes my heart erupt with gladness and my mind explode with the knowledge that Love Belvin has once again made me love her. I am writing this review, or rather analysis, after reading only less than 1/2 of this book.You see I do not need to read the fullness of what she has created to know that she has the stuff that it takes to keep me riding on her fan roller coaster or train or whatever you choose to call it. Love Belvin has shown me time and time again that she is not intimidated or dominated by opinions contrary to those which propel her to write the type of stories she was born to write. Love Belvin has set a goal for both herself and her life that will take place whether you ride with her or not. Both and she and Alexa are comfortable in their own skins. It is the serenity and peace of her writing that transfers itself into her characters. Love has the innate ability to keep you wanting to reach the end of this story only to have you salivating at the mouth while awaiting the Finale. That is her gift in full bloom and her flower is getting fuller and prettier by the minute. The anticipation generated by her cliffhangers creates such anxiety that when you hear of an upcoming release date, your finger remains poised days in advance to 1-click quick, fast and in a hurry! I know because I have been through that ritual too many times to count.Now I know why I deviated from my norm of not reading reviews and/or reading comments in book clubs. It is because I wanted to see what people were saying or rather putting forth details about the storyline. Then I would not have the need to speak on what had already been so succesfully done. There was need for redundancy. I already knew, without being told, that this woman had written another masterpiece. My regurgitation was not needed. During the very first review I ever wrote for one of Love's books I asked the question "How do you recognize a great writer"? I answered " Because the characters keep dancing on the stage of your mind, long after the story is done". I did not write my statement verbatim, but the gist is there. That is exactly what Love Belvin has done and continues to do.I need not mention that her pen game regarding built in erotica is not only on point but flies off the Richter scale in its intensity. Whew! She definitely has not lost a step in that area; as her first place standing exemplies in Amazon's category of erotic literature. Well, I shall now go on and finish the other 50% of this very impressive read but am sure nothing I have written will be changed neither in my heart nor my mind! Truthfully, the one thing I am looking forward to learning is "will Ezra find himself wishing if he had paid heed to that year spoken of in Deuteronomy 24:5"? I remain your devoted fan, Love Belvin, sit back and relax because you have a "winnah" on your hands.

Seriously! Ezra emanates so many things I have to remind myself 'this is a character'!The writing speaks to my soul and the depth of the characters is so on point. I really appreciate that Love Belvin obviously puts in the work with her writing: research, vocabulary, forward and intuitive thinking with her fan base in mind! I just can't gush enough about the eloquence of the writing but I digress lol...Lex and Ezra's second installment is deep. You see Lex start to transition in this story and not because Ezra requests or demands it but because of the evolution of her growing love for him. With that said the characters do have a somewhat naive manner of interacting with one another that makes you scratch your head because they are passionately in love yet they can't seem to see it in one another. Without giving away too much, you will see Lex arrive at a destination that finally makes you breathe for her though you won't believe the result of her revelation...Ezra is still the ever consistent dominant. I love that the language is actually used more and they dive deeper into how he arrived at his destination and you also learn his history and begin to understand what makes the man that we call Ezra. Some may not like his ways but I love him... Got my heart palpitating and wishing I could get an intro! Lol IJSIf it's at all possible, this book was better than the last and I can't wait for Spring 2016.... The countdown begins!

I found an old hardcover copy of this book in an antique store on the central coast of California. I didn't buy it then, but after reading only a few sentences of it at the bookstore, I ordered this paperback. The paperback is a nice larger size for reading and easier to read than the older book. It seems to be a forgotten about book, but for me, it is life changing and has propelled me into a new level of consciousness. I had a cosmic consciousness awakening just as described in this book in 2011, and I literally became a different person. This book describes my experience just as it happened, and happens to be a guide and support for me now. It allows me to be a "new species" of human and expand in a direction I didn't know about until I read this book, and I'm only 40 pages into it! I can only read a few pages at a time, because it all needs to be absorbed well before reading more.

This book was a remarkable study for it's time, written in 1905. It should be read by every theology and psychology student in college, who wants to understand deeper levels of consciousness. It is simple study in some ways and uses a simple method. Our methods and editing would make this a much different book today and would include woman and many authentic Indian saints of recent days past. (e.g. Autobiography of a Yogi). However for it's time, it' s a remarkable book. He at one place writes that the Indian yogi techniques are not legitimate...but did the author ever even travel to India? I assume not, whereas he would have been on a ship for months to cross the ocean. He did very well in light of his information. However, these days, there are many who have reached this state of Cosmic Consciousness...including sadhus in the Himalayas and some ordinary house-holders who don't advertise their level of spiritual development, and a few rare gurus (although most now have not reached this state!). I would of liked the author to tell the reader about his own interest in this topic and spiritual experiences but he does not mention it and focuses instead on other's experience.

Dr. Buck has made a memorable work in his research as a scientist about a theme that not so many individuals in History had the skills or the desire to face. A phenomena that occurs throughout the History of Mankind and that its understanding - about the laws of Nature that regules this - are of little comprehension until today. A book for every being searching new areas of research about the human mind.

I searched for a book about “Cosmic Consciousness” after I found list of books Steve Jobs read and how this one change is thinking and inspired him to develop a higher leveling of thinking and problem solving. It was said this was one of the books that totally changed his understanding of the world. So I had to great it. Wow, I had no idea what I was in for, This book seriously changed my perspective on the evolution of life, both past and future. Also the original writing of this book was over 100 ago. Current day writers and motivational gurus have clearly taken information from this book and delivered it in a new way.

It helped me gain insight about my spirituality. And inspired me to see a better world . A five star book without a doubt.

As more or less a novice in the study of such topics, I found the readings to be both understandable and inspiring. It provided numerous pathways to yet more sources of understanding. I would recommend this reading especially to those of an agnostic nature who yet believe in a spiritual essence within us all. I chose the rating because this book is unique in my heretofore experience. Now on to “The Leaves”!

One of the top 5 books I've read in my life. Seriously changed my perception on alot of things.

A wee bit repititious, and the olde english can be a challenge - but all in all, a good read. It certainly puts a whole new light on a number of well known historical figures, and their contributions to humankind.
