Bob Garrett is a Visiting Scholar at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He was Professor of Psychology at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, and held several positions there, including Chairperson of the Department of Psychology, Faculty Development Coordinator, and Interim Dean of Academic Affairs. He received his BA from the University of Texas at Arlington and his MA and PhD from Baylor University. He received further training in the Department of Physiology at Baylor University College of Medicine and at the Aeromedical Research Primate Laboratory, Holloman Air Force Base. Bob lives on a 3,200-acre ranch he shares with 47 other families in the hills outside San Luis Obispo. His two sons and three beautiful grandchildren all live nearby.

I bought this book for a college student as a reference book to a college course she is taking. I did a quick read on it and it's well written with appropriate diagrams. It is focused on the structure of neurons and nerve centers that control and initiate human behavior. Reader probably needs to have some understanding of elementary neurotransmitters and hoe they interact at the nerve synapses.

Arrived pretty beat up. I do not want to be charged for it so I was worried but other than that it will serve its purpose which is to read the info.

This is written so poorly and dry. I hated reading it and threw it in the box when I shipped it back. Terrible!

really detail and deeply book that explain all neuronal process into the brain , strongly I recommend it

The kindle version is a mess! It won't let you and paste, enlarge the photos, and font changes make it impossible to follow the page numerology. Terrible textbook to have electronically!

The textbook is very well organized and put together. The images are well-chosen and are quite supplemental to the text. The text is quite simple to understand and the extra study questions have been very helpful for class. For someone who is not going to become a neurologist and merely wants to dabble in the subject, this book has been endlessly fascinating.

I had to have my own copy, after returning the libraries.Great history of feng shui, with excelient illustrations. The author has written the best books on taoism that I have read. She learned at her uncle's side, and another master at an early age.The steps to perform a feng shui reading are layed out, clearly.This book will teach flying star feng shui, with complete information to create charts oneself. Several pages on landforms, moutain dragons, and waterways.I turn to this to refresh my memory, while struggleing through poorly written material by other authors.

Even though this is Wong's introductory to Feng-Shui, it is quite detailed. Best for those who wish to know more and are serious about Feng-Shui for healing and prosperity. It isn't just a casual decorator's book.

the book is fantastic, very pleasant to read and a bundle of information. It's one of these books that needs to be read over and over to process all the info. I gave 4 stars because I just wish the last few chapters had more information. I think I'm going to get more books from Eva Wong, I love her style of writing and how knowledgeable she is.

This book is one of three I picked up for an overview of the topic. It is a good resource of the history and spiritualism of an ancient subject matter. When paired with my other resources which are more modern day and hands-on based I have a good beginners grasp of the subject. If you just want to rearrange your furniture this might be too deep a book.

The philosophies and applications found in this book deal with rearranging the energy flow inside your home to prevent stagnation of energies. Follow to the word and you are guaranteed to change your life. Happy experimentation!

This book is probably more for the intermediate feng shui user would be my guess. There are more simpler ways to calculate your gua/kua number and also to calculate charts rather than using the complex wheel system in the book. The HoTu combinations also use the facing star and earth/place star, which I suspect is inaccurate. But who knows, feng shui books disagree with each other. Some say use the facing/mountain stars for hotu, some say using the facing, and period/earth/place star.The mountain drawings to determine what is a good formation and what is bad formation is somewhat hard to decipher, imo. Interesting, but I suspect would be hard to use without some hands on experience with someone familiar with landform feng shui.Her kitchen formula of putting the kitchen in an area of good stars differs from that of Yap's formulas for putting the kitchen in an area where there are bad stars. I frankly don't know which feng shui master is right and/or wrong. But otherwise, her explanation of what rooms to put good/bad stars is, is I suspect, spot on.Overall a good book, but I'd probably recommend her more recent books over this one - "A Master's course in feng shui" for example.

A comprehensive look at the practice of feng shui. Ms. Wong does not 'dumb down' the process, while making the subject matter easy to understand. In terms of exploring balance and harmony, this book is a good addition to other high quality Taoist texts of mine. I've found this book particularly useful in choosing color. I've noticed the corresponding stars provide a good basis for both the underlying color choices and their three-color composition. The teachings seems to relate nicely to how light enters a room. This was a really neat discovery. Although it's not something I could learn overnight, there have been definitive improvements in how I think about and make decor and design choices. I really love this book.

I kept thinking that the book read like a jr high book report of old. And I couldn't figure out why Kerri wrote about herself in the 3rd person. Kerri Strug's original autobiography was much, much better.

This was perfect for my third grade students biography project. The order of the book was a little difficult, but since she was a high reader it did the job

This is a good basic geoboard. It's durable and comes with more rubber bands than I think we will ever possibly need! What makes this set special are the cards that come with the board. They are large pictures of the board with pattern ideas demonstrated for you. It's very satisfying for my 4 & 3 year old to copy the pictures on the cards. And while I liked the cards to get them started, I was also pleased to see them create their own designs without any urging from me. I bought this Geoboard to help me "preschool" my four year old and it has done a great job. My only desire would be rubber bands of different sizes. There are three colors and they're all the same size-large, too large for smaller designs (I've been able to teach my four year old how to double them up but this shouldn't have been necessary.)

Got it yesterday. Both my kids 3.5 and 5 could not have enough. First thing this morning: Could we play this game? ;-)One of the reviewer said that she wishes bands were different sizes. I guess they listened. We have them large and small in different colors.Easy to follow instructions. They have cute colorful picture, wordings, and then abstract object on the board. A lot of games that have abstracts missing this step. Sometimes, you look at the abstract and just can see what it is. Not in this game: refer to the picture, point to the basic lines, and wow! now I see!My only wish there were more cards. But I will probably be buying a book for geoboards. And kids are already experimenting with shapes, creating their pictures, and trying to recreate without looking on the card. Great Satisfactory Fun!

I got this for my 4 year old son's birthday. The board is nice and durable, and there are lots of multicolored rubber bands. The pictures and great because they are large, and on laminated cardstock. The pictures range from easy to more advanced. This is age appropriate for our son and also our 6 year old daughter. Great toy!

I got this for my almost 4 year old daughter because, while she has enjoyed playing with a geoboard we already have, we didn't have any age-appropriate designs for her. I was so pleased to find this set. Even as young as she is, she's able to do at least the first few cards on her own with little or no assistance and she's having a blast! If you are looking for something educational to keep your preschooler busy while homeschooling, this is a great option.
