An excellent reference guide. I'm newish to painting, and learning how to mix different grays is really very useful. And lots of other tips. I love this book.
This book is very straightforward as a great guide for beginners. I love the book contents; It's detailed from the material to painting technique. Also the bookbinding is very intersting; It's like a quality notebook. This is not a long boring book. It gives you a quick shot of painting knowledge. When you finish reading it, which woulg not take so long, you will feel like being ready for painting something and move to the next painting book!
This book is great except that many of the images in the kindle version are blurred, which is just about the worst thing you could do in an art instruction book.
Very useful! Systematic, comprehensive, clear explanations, beautiful examples.
Many subjects and styles appear, with advice for beginners (and reminders for pros), inspiring but achievable, encouraging practice for improvement.
There is a lot of good information in this book. I knew most of the information in this book. Definitely learned some new tips.
Nice simple summary for oil painting.
I do a little oil painting for relaxation. I may never be good enough to make money. This is helping me develop my skills.
